Running to honor two birth moms

The Goins Family: Baron, Laura, Natalie, & Tyson
by Baron and Laura Goins, adoptive parents

We adore our kids’ birth moms, and that is why we are doing the Agape Run for a Mom in honor of them! Their decision to carry their babies and place them in the home of another family was a brave choice, and we have such admiration for women like them. Our lives are truly blessed by our children, and we are doubly blessed to know their birth moms. We adopted our daughter Natalie (age 4) at birth and have kept an ongoing relationship with her birth mom. Natalie knows her birth mom & sees her often. When our son Tyson (age 1) was born, we were at the hospital for his birth as well. He had surgery as a newborn and was in the hospital for several weeks. We spent much of that time getting to know his birth mom and forming a relationship with her. We hope to be in touch with her again soon. We pray for both of our kids’ birth mom and love them so much for the love they have shown our children!

Register today for Agape’s 4th Annual Run for a Mom 5k and Fun Run, Saturday, May 10. This day is not only the day before Mother’s Day, it is also what many celebrate as Birth Mother’s Day. What a way to honor these precious women!
